SkyRunning and Diedrichs Range Traverse 04.05.2024-05.05.2024
Another great weekend spent with Canterbury Mountaineering Club, this time on the West Coast. THe first day was again a VK run up Mt Tuhua. The second day was the much bigger SkyRun with a traverse of the Diedrichs range. Starting up Gerhardt Spur with a long steep ridge, reaching Gerhardt Biv. We then went along the most exposed section travelling South along the ridge of steep tussock and rock to Mullins hut. Somewhere just before the hut was a classic bush bash through thick West Coast bush! Once here it was out via Cedar Flats for a taste of everything the West Coast has to offer.
